SS-ehrenring with a number engraved inside

Hi

I read that on wikipedia about SS-Ehrenring :
"The ring was initially presented to senior officers of the Old Guard (of which there were fewer than 5,000) who had displayed extraordinary valor and leadership skill in battle"

Do you think it is possible to have a ring with only a number ( 600 ) engraved inside.

I saw a lot of rings but none with only a number engraved inside.

Hello Honor,

I have read your very interesting thread and i was wondering if you can tell me more about this example. It looks like the prongs have gone and that it is attached with thread to the ek2 ribbon. I don't know about the originality. It looks old to me but i don't know about the originality.

Has anybody got any pics of known fakes ?
I just picked one up at a fair for no money at all
It looks to be original but doesnt conform to the three known types
its two piece /four rounded prongs ,one is broken but still present

I have read this thread with a lot of delight and first I want to thank everyone for this wonderfull research, second I wonder if anyone has made some research regarding the documents and the way it was awarded.

I like to know how it was awarded and the process, I have seen some RK proposition downgraded to Ehrenblatt and viceversaso i think the process was similar to the RK one and who has the final word? for the RK was the Führer, but for the Honor Clasp I don't know. Also I want to see any document you have related to this award.

This is really a terrific thread. My personal thanks for all of the work that went into it.

I am the one that purchased the clasp from Emedals in post #68. I really don't think more photos of it would add to the discussion here but would be glad to if requested. Details are similar to the two already posted.

Are there any names attached to the photos of recipients that were posted?
