fake of the week discussion

Would like to compare Detlev's fake of the week with my antipartisan badge.
I must admit when I saw it I was a bit worried but I am pretty confident it is not the same badge, however a very scary fake ?? But let others comment
First off the front to me the Swaz doesnt look the same but the buttons on the hilt falling away to the right is a scary addition to making it seem original

to me the differences are the catch, the cut outs , the pin but again open to discussion

Again scarily similar but I think the Swaz is not the same plus it is missing the trademark "notch" on the sword blade.

Here on the fake there is metal where on mine there is not. Not sure if this is a big thing but to me a difference

Completely different but again many times we have seen manufacturers use different set ups on their badges so in itself not a total reason to rule out the badge is a fake.
However I think this area shows some differences to the fake in question

Again very similar but to me there are differences. I welcome discussion here & whilst I may not have the "Frank H" gut my feelings are that my badge is the real deal.

But please feel free to offer any opinons, I promise I won't have a hissy fit if someone doesnt agree

Hi Craig, nice break-down and comparison. But i would interject that any badge with a catch that wide/flat should be run away from very, very quickly!

I'm sorry to say that your badge is a fake. So, you can just send it to me.

No really Craig, I have already examined over a thousand badges of this type
and believe me when I say that Detlev's fake is not even close.
You have spotted many differences yourself. Great job, by the way!
I have seen much better fakes than this one.
The finish on this one is just horrible. Look at how it shines.
It looks like it was plated with real silver or chrome and was then buffed down or slightly dulled. Anyay, don't get alarmed by the fakes. Just continue to find the differences in yours and the fakes that you encounter. Sometimes you will have to look very hard.

As I assumed but again it is a pretty convincing fake when compared to the ones we mostly see. For me the first time I have seen where the buttons fall away to the side, the skull is pretty close, plus the snakes as well.

The finish didnt look right but again I thought maybe the way it was photographed.

It never ceases to amaze me how much knowledge, research, comparison, and worry goes into collecting in the 3R arena. I am fairly new to this but find it fascinating. There is a wealth of knowledge and experience on this website and I am glad I have found it. Great work on comparing these badges. I learn everytime I read one of these threads.
