PAB Help

I have been labeling my collection and cannot decide what this one may be. It looks somewhat like a Wurster, but I don't think so. It has repaired hardware.

The second PAB that I need help with is this unfinished RS. This was the 1st PAB that I bought some time ago and I noticed that it has some pitting and is missing the hardware box at the top. Any thoughts? I now think that it may be a cast fake.

For the hollow, try a search on "GWL pab" and compare

Quite a novel repair for the catch.


With regard to the RS, I am not a fan of this one. The obverse looks quite convincing, but the reverse looks soft and not crisp in areas, and with the pitting and lack of hardware and hardware guides, there are too many issues for me.

Definitely a GWL. Thank you! I can now see exactly how it snapped off.

Thank you on the RS as well. I thought that it looked ok, but time and education on these badges has made me come to the same conclusion.

Hello Jonathan,

Yes! The first is definitely a GWL. Here is one to compare. The catches on these were made of sheet zinc and zinc does not take well to being bent. They are very easy to break.

I am leery of the Souval also. I think that one might be a cast fake as you say.
