PAB 7 wheeler grass cutout swaz?

    Hi guys,

Can I get some feedback on this? I have just purchased this, it appears to be a 7 wheeler PAB but on checking it against the other PABs of this type posted - and there aren't many - there are differences in the pin attachment and although the catch is missing it appears to be different as well. Also there are some holes in both the front and back and I cant make up my mind whether these are from zinc pest or if they are from a fakers casting leaving air holes. I am guessing zinc pest as the badge is zinc and the holes are not regular as you would expect from an air bubble. But I am not sure if you could cast in zinc anyway.

Any opinions from the PABsters out there would be appreciated.

    Regards

    Steve

      Hi Steve,

This is what I like to call the second pattern 7 wheeler with the more complex grass design. This badge IMO was made by another maker as the first pattern.

This badge only exist as a hollow and as a solid zinker but not as a hollow buntmetall variant. It's also this type that encountered the problems with the cut-out tool. Already visible on your badge with only one of the 3 swas arms cut-out.

The quality of these badges isn't the best but they are original.

        Hi Philippe,

Thanks, I had noticed that the cutout was only partial around the lower arm of the swastika but was'nt sure if this was significant, there does appear to be a fair bit of what I would describe as "flashing" which hasn't been cleaned up by any finishing process. This is evident under the gun as well, the badge is slightly curved and has shallow profile.

        Regards

        Steve
