"If the hardware was resoldered, we should see a massive blackening on the front (near head and grass), which is not visible. You can polish it off after it cooled down, but with the amount of finish left on the front, it is highly unlikely."

    Exactly

Not saying it is resoldered, but not sure I have seen this blackening before

I'll agree with Daniel that the white stuff seems odd

I wouldn't bet the farm against the hardware having not been resodered.

            Hi Sven

The reverse appears to have a few small darkened areas central to the badge. Is the colouring of these similar to the areas close to the hinge and catch?

            regards
            Graeme

              Hi guys,

thanks again for your opinions - much appreciated.
@Graeme: In my opinion the colour is similar, but a little bit different.
              Here are some pictures.

              Best regards
              Sven

                Hi Sven,

I don't think it is resoldered either. I think we are seeing the solder, and it is identical for the hinge and catch. In my opinion, the reverse has not finish on it, that is why we can see the solder and the blackening around it from the soldering heating process.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Wurster Heer combat badges are my specialty and there is nothing wrong here. All is as it should be.

                    Cheers,
                    Kwen.

                      Hi Kwen,

I've sent it back to the seller. The seller here on the estand is not me.

                      Best regards
                      Sven

                        Hi Sven,
Sorry for my bad English expression. I knew the seller(0) is not you. I'm going to send him a PM.
                        Cheers,
                        Kwen.

This is one I have that was identified on the WAF as a Karl Wurster hollow back sometime back. It doesn't look like the back on this one. It also has a different hook catch on the bottom. I don't know if that means anything, because I never studied these things.....just picked them up when I found them from vets years ago, before I quit actively collecting and sold most of the things I had.

Good catch variant. But is there a second mark made by the pin or my poor eyesight?
                            Cheers,

                              Kwen,

If your question is to me, sorry I can't answer it. I took these pictures in 2006, 3 years before my stroke and retirement. I haven't seen the badge since I started remodeling the house for the 4th time around 2010. It may have been stuck somewhere to make room to work, or it may have "walked away" when some of the workers left me.......which may have been what happened with a lot of stuff I can't find now. Therefore all I have left to reach easily are the photos, and probably your eyes may be better than mine......since I am a soon to be 74 year old diabetic, who has died 4 times plus has had one stroke.

                              Sorry,
                              Ron
