      Hi Kulms,

A very nice early Wurster, I also agree with Ken this is just as nice as a minty badge, great patina

          Hi

Really nice appearance to this worn badge, as the other guys have pointed out.

Not used to seeing these Wursters with a catch opening to the left. If possible can you post more pics of the catch area please

          regards
          Graeme

Great looking IAB with very nice patina and character. Love the extra little saw cut on the eagle's head.

I too have never seen a Wurster with catch opening to the left. It looks like it may have originally opened to the right too, judging from the scrapes on both sides of the catch. Maybe it was bent out of shape at one point, then bent back but facing left??

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

The catch was never removed or modified in any way ... great badge
                    Best regards, Andreas

                      Hi Kulms,

Thanks for the additional pics of the catch, they confirm that the catch was twisted around at some point, you can see the twist marks on the stem in a few spots. Its made from brass and very malleable, so pretty easy to do with no problems.
