    My first PAB

I just traded for a PAB. I spent some time one the forum comparing images of PABs to the one I was thinking of getting and my assessment is that this is a plain Junkers or Wurster, hollow back. I'm simply looking for confirmation from those of you more gifted in ID'ing the originals and their makers. It's a bit banged up and some of the finish is worn, but it seems original to me.

What do you think of it?
How do you tell the difference between Junkers and Wurster, is it the grass detail?

    Hi Oz,

Looks like a nice bronze tombak Wurster pab, straight on photos would help to confirm, easy way to tell is juncker used a different reverse set up and they only made early pab's in silver grade

      Hi oz,

I can only agree with Rhidian, this is a fine original by Wurster. These early Wurster's are 99% of the time found in the bronze grade, whereas the early Juncker's are always found in Silver, so that is an easy way to tell them apart without looking at the design and 99 times out of 100 you would be correct.

The design is also different in many subtle ways, I would suggest getting a nice closeup of a Juncker and Wurster, sit them next to eachother and study them for a few minutes. Here is a nice Juncker for you.
