        Hello Burnout,

also in my opinion it's an original WR42 IAB with all of its finish gone (like on most of the others of this type). For sure they are rare and sought after by IAB collectors, but from time to time you can find them. Most of the examples I saw at the different estands were offered for about 150-170 euro, but I don't know if they were really sold for this price. The price you can get for it always depends if you find a collector who is looking for this variant.

        Best regards
        Sven

I agree it is an original and not common ISA.

Nice example of a not-often seen IAB.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

IMO, it looks like the pin may have been replaced or tampered with.

For starters the tension hook looks too far out from the hinge?
The pin looks a little long.
And if the scrape on the badge near the catch is where the pointed end of the pin scratched it, the existing pin does not look capable of that.

                  regards
                  Graeme

                    Hi Graeme,

I didn't had any concerns about the pin, because the pin on my example is very long as well. Unfortunately I can't explain the scrape on the badge, that's really strange.

                      Hi Sven

Nice to see your example.. I do not think mine are as long.. I will check tonight.

My main concern was the first point I made.. If you look at post #3 the bend of the pin just does not look right.... imo of course.

And usually the scratch marks you see near the catch, are caused by the pin touching the badge when opening the pin.

                      regards
                      Graeme

                        hello

                        thanks for all the comments!
I get the badge in my hands again an
the scratches next to the hook fit to the length from the needle
when one depresses the needle while opening. So IMO the scratches are typical!

                        kind regards burnout

The scratches were always typical. It was a matter of whether the pin matched the scratches or not. And if you say they do, then that is a good sign.
As Sven pointed out long pins have been seen on these, but my main concern was the bend at the hinge end.. post #3. For me it did not look right.

                          best regards
                          Graeme

                            Hi Graeme,

do you think there's a difference of the bend at the hinge end compared to my example?

                              hello

I cannot see any difference at the hinge
Graeme perhaps you can explain what you mean

                              kind regards burnout
