    Gold CCC(question)

Hello to all. Look at this CCC. My opinion, that it is fake. What do you think about it?http://profy12.narod.ru/photoalbum.html

    Hi Sergey,

I agree with you. I don't like the bayonet or the grenade. The oakleaves look too symetrical. The rivet and pin are ridiculous. The suspension 'hook' looks wrong. These are just the major problems.

    Regards,
    Mark

Can some of our expert members pass comment on this please?
It looks very similar to the one in this sites piece on ccc's, but I would appreciate some opinions.

It conformes to the spec's of originals, weighs 38.9 grams, single rivet (hidden by the pin)

      thanks & regards,
      Tim

          fake ccc gold

          Hello Tim,

Im sorry tim but this is a fake that has been around quite some years , the back plate is not correctly attached, etc ... etc ... this is a quite easely to spot fake one ( look after the book from M.Dörr => " Die Träger der Nahkampfspange im Gold " , there are pictures of original presentation CCC !!!!!!!! )

Please guys be realistic , what is the chance that one find a original CCC in Gold !!!!!!! , that is a very rare and hard to find collectible and is statistical wise far more rare then the Knights cross of the Iron cross so don't expect to find one with a dealer, etc .. for a bargain !!!!!!!!!!

          Cordial Greetings,

I'm with Stijn on this one. Very rare award, and no veteran ever interviewed ever remembers the version with hook and rivet. Also quite easy to fake.

                Hi Stijn & Yuri,

Thanks for the opinion, but can you give me some more help please...

the "hook"...do you mean the hook above the back plate? I ask because the example in the War Badges section of this website has this hook, and Mr Stumps as well, also the rivet, can you please tell me, do you mean the one holding the back plate on? as this is also evident on the picture (which seems to be a colour version of the ccc in gold in Forman's book)

Guys, I am not trying to 'clutch at straws' on this, just learn more.

Mr Stump, what is your opinion, I really value this site, and the expertise on it, and would like to hear and learn more.

                thanks & regards,

                Tim
