    Gents,
may I have your opinions and help on this IAB. Looks OK for me , but I can't figure out who is a maker.
    Thanks in advance,

      Hi Andrei,

Some would say this is a "Mueller design", but I would say its just an unmarked Mueller

Nice example with some good finish left.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

          Hi Andrei

Your badge does not have one of the common set ups imo, in fact it looks to be quite uncommon.
Is it correct that your hinge has an oval or curved base to it?
Does the catch have a round catch plate?

          cheers

            Hi Andrei

I can see what Graeme is referring to in regards to the hinge base.

The unmarked Muller has raised hinge plate guide lines in the shape of an oval. The hinge (having the same oval shape) would be soldered inside these guide lines.
A second sheet metal hinge having a base formed in the shape of a rectangle was also used on this variant...again positioned inside the raised oval guide lines.
What is peculiar the hinge base on this one does not look like the same size (my opinion) as the normally seen oval shaped hinge base, likewise it does not look like the rectangular shaped base either.

The catch on these usually incorporates an oblong or round catch plate. This one looks like it has a "C" style catch directly soldered to the reverse; sans a catch plate.

Could you post side pics of the hinge and catch areas?

For me, this could be a hardware set up I have not seen in use on an unmarked Müller solid.

            Best Regards, fischer

              Hi guys,

I think there is a catchplate present, its just hard to see with the solder.

I also see the oval outline around the hinge, its just very faint.

Thanks for the additional pics Andrei, confirming the catchplate and hinge outline.

                        Nice unmarked Mueller.

                          Hi Tom

Your first quote keeps most people happy and at least recognises other members thoughts. It is good to be diplomatic and at least on this forum we can all discuss and have sensible ideas aired.

                          cheers

                            Hi Andrei

Thanks from me as well; you can clearly see the round catch plate and hinge base.

With the badge in hand, does it appear to have a frosted finish over a chrome like base?

                            Best Regards, fischer
