    Convincing Juncker CCC fake

    Hi guys,

The latest Juncker CCC fake made by Staegemeir. Finish is the first major red flag, very different compared with originals. Also notice the rough appearance, quite a contrast to original Junckers which are pretty smooth in comparison.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

    Few reverse shots.

Notice the rust on the backplate, a nice attempt at giving this one an "aged look". Only problem is that Juncker's backplates are not made from steel, so there is no way they can rust! So another little detail that gives this one away as just another decently-made fake.

Maybe Staegemeir should have read the CCC book or paid closer attention to our discussions here on WAF

Thanks for sharing Tom. Crimps are very convincing indeed. Here's another fake based on Juncker's design. Don't know if Stagemaier is responsible for this one, but whoever made it read something on the variant crimps.

          Hi Ken,

Actually that is an S&L clasp, not Juncker. I think it is an original clasp that has been refinished with a modern gold plating and with a new backplate. So not really in the same class as the Juncker I posted, which is 100% fake through and through.

Thanks Tom. I'd say that this was not one of Staegemeir's better efforts though.

When I saw this one late last night, I didn't really l@@k at it, but it just goes to show that you can never be too careful in this hobby. Lots of crazy stuff happening out there. Thanks again Tom. **Doesn't get much more "convincing" than refinishing an original clasp IMO.
