SSN683 CSO (have you got a real name?)

it would appear that most of the bronze JFS IABs for sale in the States are mint. It leads me to believe that a large amount from stores or the factory were probably taken as war booty by GIs.
Over here in Germany I have seen quiet a few combat worn examples.

        Greetings gentleman,

A friend of mine vet aquired a large box of these JFS IAB's some years back. They were all wrapped in tissue, and had never seen the light of day. Anyway, most were mint, but on some of them all of the finish had melted away, or just about all melted away. I had just bought some other things and was short on money, so I bought only three of them, after someone else had gobbled up all the rest. 1 minty, 2 brand new with no finish. No rhyme or reason why I could find that the finish was perfect on most, and not all of them!
        Respectfully,
        jeff

My name is J. Kelley. I thought the SSN683 moniker sounded good when I registered but perhaps I should rethink this. Thanks alot for the information.
