I quite like the detail of the top half of the obverse, but not sure about the lack of detail and "damage" to the bottom half and similar on the reverse.

Can you post a clearer reverse pic, that might help.

I am not a big collector of these, but hopefully others here will have a better view.

Looks like a nice Hymmen design IMO, and I believe they also did stickpins. Somehow, it got dinged at the bottom. Nice piece otherwise. Greame's right though, that better pics of the back may reveal more, whether or not this occurred during manufacture, or possibly, afterward.

Quite possibly happened during manufacture, from a dirty die? Minis are also known for their imperfection.

I agree with Ken that this one looks very Hymmen in design.

Under a loop the dark area on the bottom of the reverse looks like it may be a burn or heat damage of some kind.
