    New Gab for my Bday!

    Good day gentlemen.

    It was my birthday last week so I treated myself to this unmarked GAB.

    I think it has real character and I don't think its made from zinc?

    Comments more than welcome please.

        Hi Jay,

        Gorgeous example my friend, a wonderful addition for your birthday

        While it may not look like it, this badge is indeed made of zinc. It just has a very thick, silver plating on it. The tiny bubbles are evidence of the zinc base metal and I think if you look close at the highlights of it (like the bayonet tip), you can probably find a spot or two where the plating is worn off showing the dark, grey zinc base metal.

            happy birthday!!!

            In my opinion it's an original GAB attributed to Rudolf Karneth. Im pretty sure that it's made of zinc, because you can clearly see the small zinc bubbles at the finish. It's in a really nice condition! Congrats!!!
