Rare tank badge!? Huuummmm.....

I had posted this in the general awards and it was suggested to put it here.



Putting around on the big "E" and came across this auction. Looks like a real badge that has been modified but never heard of anything like this.

Cut and past from the auction:

"Ultra Rare Bulgaria War car Tank badge WWII Germany type. Single specimens are available of the badge from the second part of the WWII (Bulgarian is against Germany and an ally of USSR). The badge is actually the “Storm Tank badge” of the Third Reich. During the remodeling, on the upper part of the badge, the eagle with the swastika has been replaced with stylized bronze shield, on which there are 3 bands – the first one -effigy of four dot circles; the second one-the initials “I.Б.А.”(First Bulgarian Army) and the third one – the year 1945. These badges are made in single copies and ultra rare. The bade is 100% Original and in perfect condition as you can see on the pictures. They will be a perfect acquisition for every collector of badges from WWII."

I think thats very interesting- I like it a lot, looks period done and the conversion has been quite carefully done also. I don't know what the 'joke' thread comments are about? Do you have pictures of any other examples or any history of the award this is representing?

It is to creative of a story for the typical Ebay garbage. It is something I can very well imagine running into over here .I am not standing up nor shooting it down, but I also like the way it is altered. I have seen stranger things .


Maybe a glance at the sellers other items could say a bit?

Field made, casted, who knows. Interesting though.

Those 2 on that site look bootleg, the thing with the ebay one is that it is a good badge.

Considering what you have posted up it gives the impression that they were fakes based on the badge that started this thread. I would tend to agree.
