              It could be a bronze grade because not all pins were bronze finished on bronze grade badges. The backside, however, does have a darker appearance, but remember too, that silver Brennlac can tarnish to the point of making an award, such as this, "look" bronze in color. That's difficult to assess based on pics alone sometimes.

              P.S.: Training my eye just to the coggler wheel on the backside, I'm leaning toward the bronze now too. It's good to get a cheap 5X jeweller loope out while taking pics to enhance certain areas that are questionable, whether it be hardware, or, in this case, the color of the finish.

                  I can only agree with the others, this is a fine Schickler/Mayer PAB. Impossible to be sure about the finish unfortunately, but at least its a nice original.
