CCC bronze by C.F. Juncker for review

    Hi guys,
I got this bronze Nahkampfspange made by Juncker which came directly from the soldier,
this piece has never been cleaned, it still has is dirty from field wear,
it has most of its finish remaining
I'm thinking about selling this piece but before listing it on estand
I would appreciate some opinions about it, thank you

Nicest design in the CCC IMO. Here's my Vet.

No doubt a fine, original Juncker clasp in very nice condition finish wise.

The only questionable thing I see is the catch, the shape looks a little different than what we normally see and I think I see what looks like some bright (new?) solder underneath....maybe repaired? A few more shots of the catch with the pin out of the way with some better lighting would tell us for sure.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Great eye, as usual, Tom. Here's both clasps catches for comparison. Also, the catch on Kevin's has a "bevel" in it, while mine comes from the typical "flat" stock.

                    Hi all,
didn't noticed that, but I guess everything is fine here, nothing repaired on the catch Nevertheless I will have a closer look on that tomorrow, I will also make some detailed photos that will tell
                    Regards, Kevin

I don't think this catch was repaired, there seems to be just a kind of corrosion, there is even some bronze fnish on the soldering,
I tried to make a close up, hope this tells enough

It looks original to the clasp for me too Kevin. I think the fact your catch came from "bevelled" stock is part of the reason it came into question. The other was a trick by lighting and the angle of the shot. IMO, no repair, and the catch is Juncker made. I also think a "bevel" on the catch would help strengnthen it, as many "flat stock" catches tend to snap off!! Nice clasp!

**This would be the 3rd type catch I've seen on Juncker's CCC, since the "1st pattern" had a round wire catch!
