    Well made FLL CCC fake

    Hi guys,

For those of you keeping track of the well made Staegemeir fakes (which I highly recommend by the way), here is a new one that has just recently popped up. Believable finish and hardware, but close look at some small details reveal it to be just the latest in a serious of well made fakes pumped out by this clown. I notice he is even trying to add the "bent pin" feature we often find on original FLL clasps, so stay vigilant gents.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

That is a dangerous one. Crimped in hinge looks really good, along with what could be discounted as a "well preserved" finish. I know there's slight variations in the eagle head, but the head region from the neck up is a tad long. The box area is, however, very well executed. Interesting how something doesn't quite hit the mark, like the catch and its base. But, if it showed up on Ebay at midnight on a Buy Now, someone would probably drop $500 (maybe more...) on it. Thanks Tom. Great book!

A very good attempt but not quite right as Ken commented. I agree that this one would fly on ebay though

Thanks again Tom for outing this notorious Reprofiteer and his most recent nefarious attempt to Bamboozle the less informed.

Thank you Tom, What strikes me at first impression is the lack of detail to the box area, especially the leaves.
              Regards, Dave

I think you should compare with the one in this thread: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ccc+fll+silver
If you have Tom's book, you should compare with the one on page 190 as well.
