IAB - Vienna Fake?

Hi guys,

A friend of mine sent this IAB to me for an opinion. As far as I am concerned, this is a fake. But the details and base metal and hardware all look pretty convincing and thought I would show it here for other opinions because it is not everyday we see such a well made fake IMO.

Good Eye Tom, there was an even more convincing Varient Posted awhile back on the CGA, but the Hollow ones can be tricky

Yep, there are some very convincing fakes out there for sure. Fortunately with this one the missing leaf inside the rifle sling is a good giveaway, especially as we are not aware of any known originals of this style with the missing leaf.

Also the pin at the hinge end is very "sloppy" and seems to be a common occurrence on these fakes..

I am sure we have this type in the fakes area, but might be worth posting yours in there as it probably has a different appearance.
