PAB experts, what do you make of this?

    Hi guys,

I have been trawling through images of PABs trying to identify this badge and cant find anything to match it to. It appears to have characteristics of different makers. Is it a fake or genuine? Sorry the rear pic is fairly bad.

    Regards

      Hi Steve,

Based upon what I can see it's an original 2 pattern 7 wheel or cut-out grass PAB. These were onlu made as hollow and as solid zink variant, but no buntmetall variant exists.

      Here is my hollow example.

          Hi Philippe,

Thanks yet again for your assistance, is the PAB by a known maker or is the description 2 pattern 7 wheeler or cut out grass PAB an identifier like porsche and daisy used for badges by unknown makers? I assume that 2 pattern refers to a 2nd pattern, cut-out refers to the swastika, grass to the profusion of foliage in the foreground beneath the tank and 7 wheeler to the wheels visble on the right hand side of the badge looking at it, is this correct?

          Regards

            Hi Steve,

You're correct, the maker of these badges is unknown and there exist in fact two patterns. The second pattern like yours in easy to distinguish from the first because the grass area on the second is much more detailed with long grass stalks all over the lower grass section.

Since the first and second pattern both exist as hollow zinkers and as solid versions it is my believe that they were made by two different makers. So the different patterns are designer and not maker related, just like it's the case with the different Daisy patterns.
