IAB - Broken Stem

Hi guys,

i just got another IAB i'd like to share with you and hear your opinions on.

Although it's clearly a broken stem, the feature seems to have been removed (it's shape remains somewhat visible with the finish filling it).

Is there a general term for this "whiteish" sort of finish, such as frosted perhaps?

Very nice. The finish on that one looks to be a nice quality Brennlac with a frosted type "schnee" or snow (Rhodium plate?). Not all have this and also looks to be a thicker, earlier example. I had on like that with a high quality barrel hinge, the "AR" mono and a "flat stock" catch. Sold it long ago.

It makes for a nice contrast with the rest of the family, but a nice bronze grade still eludes me for now.

Hey again guys,

i added another Broken Stem to the family that i would like to share and hear your opinions on. I wonder what is up with the rough areas that are nonetheless still covered with a decent finish, maybe from die problems or just refinishing, i have no idea.

What is the term "broken stem" relating to? If you are going to get a bronze IAB ,would the maker matter, or would it be a broken stem too? Just curious , never heard the term.Thanks
