    CCC in bronze by Juncker...

Didn't think I'd pick another one up for a while, but when I saw this one for sale from a local dealer, I decided to buy it. Why? The box area was cut out a little "off kilter", giving the inside a kinda "interesting" look -which appealed to me. The clasp had a little zinc pest developing in the bottom right hand, next to the box area, but a little Vaseline treatment took care of that. Here's the before...

Very nice Ken. That vaseline is good stuff, kills the zincpest and brings out the bronze luster nicely.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Thanks Tom and I totally agree, that it brings back the lustre in the bronze finish -as you suggested some months ago. Actually, I do this routinely now, to any zinc based badge that I acquire -beacuase it certainly doesn't hurt, when done properly.

However, this was a bit more "interactive" --as the area inflicted by the pest also had lost it's finish, so I helped it a bit... I love it when it gets "interactive" on a badge I like, because it tests my "artistic" ability somewhat. I literally "returned" that finish (see pics). Don't try this at home guys, at it was a challenge and I like a challenge. Mint badges are nice, but where are ya gonna find "mint" on a combat piece??

Couple more shots where the infected area used to be... As you can see, like magic, it's gooonnne.
