in my opinion it's an original so called "deformed leaf" IAB attributed to Deumer.

Ditto, original Silver IAB w/corresponding packet. Looks like most of the Silverwash has been absorbed into the Zinc Alloy.

Very interesting. Thanks for posting. Can you be more specific about the grouping? Is it from a collector's grouping or a veteran's grouping -- in other words do the circumstances suggest they have been together since wartime or were they put together by a collector?

Wow, better and better! Have you tried enlarging a high resolution scan of the photo of the soldier to compare the badge photo to your Deumer?
