It looks like one I bought at the Stuttgart Killiesburg Waffenboerse in 1978 as a soldier stationed there, and then sold it in 1980 for $500.00. I rarely lament a sale once I decide to sell something but it's hard to remind myself of that when it comes to seing one of these.

      von Stubben:

$500.00 for the "Gold" Close Combat Clasp in 1980.

That was still pretty high even back then. I believe we were buying & selling "German Crosses" for roughly $150.00 & that price could get you a decent "20" maker mark with a nice undamaged swastika!

That is a beautiful "Gold" Clasp that Barry has there. My 'bronze' is identical to this one & is even "unmarked" with the 'Cello' bag.

      -------------------------
$38,000.00 ? If that's the case maybe I should phone Barry & see if he wants to match-up his 'Gold' Clasp with my "Gold" Clasp Award Document....They're even rarer than the Clasp!

The price is falling pretty fast for a dealer site.
Still too expensive for me and the girls I go out with.....

Typically when the price is listed, it will stay as such for years. I wouldn't expect this price to drop for a loooong time.

I would very much to see if it sells what the final price will be!Not to nitpick as it is without a doubt a very rare piece, but did anyone notice the top hook is broken off!Thies also has a fine GAB # 75 PAGE #252 which I will be interested what that brings.Thies catalogs are beautiful and the very rare items are a joy to behold IMO.cdr
