Help Needed on GAB & IAB

    Hey guys,

I have spent the last hour looking through older threads trying to ID these two badges but I'm having no luck. I don't see anything wrong with either of them but I want to be 100% sure.

Any help with the makers of either badge?

Any assistance is appreciated as always...

    Chrys

          Hi Chrys

In my opinion, both are fine originals.

The GAB is from an unknown maker, unknown #7 in Franks GAB book.

The IAB is thought to be from S&L.

It looks like some of the rifle butt is hanging off

          best regards
          Graeme

Even for me both these badges are good original wartime pieces.

            My books:

            - THE WEHRPAß & SOLDBUCH OF THE WH
            - THE SS TK RING
            - THE ITALIAN-GERMAN MEDAL
            - THE ANTI PARTISAN BADGE
            - THE AWARDS OF THE LW

            and more!

              Hi Chrys,

Why not look in the GAB Galleries we have here at WAF, and match up the obverse designs:

The IAB is indeed a later-war S&L badge.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

9 years I have been around this place and I never realized this existed! I must just get so tunnel focused on what I normally collect I just never saw this area.

Thanks Thomas...that will save me from starting these threads in the future.

All the best gents...and thanks for the assistance.

                  Cheers,
                  Chrys
