It will be interesting to see how it looks after you have cleaned it up.

It looks original to me, but it has taken a couple knocks in the central area and the right hand leaves look damaged, although that could be dirt.

Dear fellow collectors,

I have a clasp in my hands finally and after some gently cleaning (french soap+gun care spray) it turned to be a silver grade. And moreover without any beaten parts or damage. Originally there was a layer of dust and nicotine (?) which could be removed even better, but I didn´t want to rape anything. On the last picture you can see a factory vaulting which caused a bit loose pin.

Im not to good photographer to capture the silver finish in a right way but I hope you will agree with me about the silver grade. It´s definitely not a faded bronce color which we are used to see on these.

Hi Josef,

Very nice result

No doubts about it, its a silver grade. I think we could see that even from your original pics, the pin itself is clearly silver color. And the closeup of the hinge shows silver finish in the recess. Now that you have cleaned it, we can see a good bit of silver finish remaining on the obverse, with just some honest wear that has rubbed off the silver finish on the high points like the grenade head, revealing the darker grey zink base metal. Nice job, a keeper for sure.
