Hi guys,
Just back from the SOS, great show and was really fun hanging out with some good WAF friends again (Chad, Chris, Nick, Scott, Skip, Giel, Greg, Tim, Dietrich and Trevor).
I don't think I did as good as some of the others did, but did manage to pick up a few decent IABs. First up is a minty "Egghead". Zinc badge, but with a nice brass coating that was applied to the zinc before the silver finish was put on. I don't recall ever seeing this treatment on an Egghead before and explains why the silver finish has survived so well on this example.
The 2nd one is a pretty common "flatback/broken stem" IAB. This is a variant I had been missing, with the rectangular-shaped catchplate rather than the more common round baseplate. Not too bad condition, with a good amount of silver finish remaining.
Tom
