                    Very nice!

I know nothing about the badge but I can talk about the historical context of the documents.

Signed by Oblt. Albert Jaath while Fhr. of III./Inf.Rgt.191 in Stalingrad. Jaath was Chef 9./Inf.Rgt.191 until he took leadership of the battalion from Hptm. Herbert Wittenberg on 14 September (Wittenberg himself took over the battalion on 4 September when its previous commander, Knight's Cross winner Major Dipl.Ing. Reinhard Fredebold, was wounded). Jaath is listed as MIA December 1942 in Stalingrad, his family last receiving a letter from him dated 25 December 1942.

Signing for the correctness is Leutnant Hanisch. I don't know much about him, unfortunately.

The handwritten letter is to Frau Elshoff and talks about the Heldentod (hero's death) of her son. Any chance you could provide a clearer shot of both pages of the letter? Perhaps it describes the destruction of an enemy tank.

                    Jason
