maybe you are in denial. We all have been there. I can tell you for sure, your badge was at least heavily polished.
But the good thing is, you are in the hobby for decades to come. Your badge will retain its patina. Give it time and this rare badge will look even more perfect.

In my opinion, yes it has been cleaned and polished recently.
But really, I don't think that matters much at all. Especially with such a rare type of badge, I would have snapped it up in a heartbeat if it was priced right.

Hi guys,
OK, you've convinced me :-)
As I said I'm not an expert on cleaning. I've just compared this one to my NS Wiedman where I knew that it was cleaned and in my opinion there's a big difference. That was the reason why I thought that it has not been cleaned.
Even if it's cleaned I'm happy that I got exactly this badge, because I love the cupal peeking through the silver finish, too!
