Thank you, Jean-Felix, I sent you a PM and will contact some of you for better pics during the next days!

I once sold two GABs which are very rare variants and I would be happy if the person(s) I sold them to would contact me so I can get better pics than the ones I still have of those badges:

        1) zinc hollow RK GAB with slightly FILLED in reverse:

                Dear Frank,

Can't wait to see you link the L/18 posted by Jean-Felix to the "cut-out" supposed BH Mayer's

                  Dear Philippe,

Maybe I expressed myself wrong. But I found some "comparison proof" to now be able to say with great certainty which GABs are BH Mayer and which are Frank & Reif. The confirmation was in their hollow IABs and linking them to the hollow GABs of both firms. It is indeed the case though that the die they both used for their hollow GABs was the same one down to the last details (after all the companies are located practically in the same city, Pforzheim is just a long stone throw away from Stuttgart Zuffenhausen), only the cutouts and the reverse setup differs. Funny enough, the no cut out swaz area massive Frank & Reifs have cut out hollow GAB counterparts, while the L/18s are non cut out. One would have expected that Frank & Reif used also non cut out swaz area hollow badges like with their massive GABs, but apparently they did not.
Frank & Reif´s hollow GABs have the same catch as the PABs we already called F&R for a long time. The IABs we cautiously called BH Mayer using the same catch are indeed F&R IABs, while the BH Mayers share the same setup as the L/18 GAB shown above by Jean-Felix. Quite simple, but difficult to explain!

I will have some picture comparisons prepared for the publication and will share here when done.
                  Cheers, Frank

                    Dear Frank,

It's already much to late and I should be in bed in stead of writing a reply, but since I know you don't sleep already this question before reading your comment again tomorrow morning

Am I correct in assuming that you think BH Mayer made both the cut-out and non cut-out variant as a hollow badge, because that's what I thought you ment with your comment in this thread

where you excluded F&R as the maker of Walthers badge?

                      Dear Philippe,

I was confused that day it seems, turning the facts exactly the other way round. Disregard my answer on that thread. In fact, I will edit it so nobody reading it at a later point in time will get confused too. Sorry about that. F&R is the maker of Walther´s badge.
                      Cheers, Frank

How did I miss this thread earlier? Must be the heat of summer.

Anyway, here are a few of the ones I've owned.

Hope they can be of some help Frank.

                        First a nice Tombak example. . .

I don't know if I've seen one in this thread yet with this shape of pin attachment plate, but I could have missed it.....

                                Morning Frank,

Ok now it makes sense and we're back on the same wave lenght. As you know I'm braking my head for quite some time on the link between F&R and BH Mayer when it comes to the production of IAB's GAB' and PAB's but couln't follow any more after your post in the other thread.
