GABs, please post your unusual ones

    Dear fellow collectors,

I am currently gathering info for a publication on the GAB (regular and numbered). It would be great to see your examples: Even if they are humble and common looking to you, they could be a missing puzzle piece in what I have gathered so far! I am especially looking for:

    -variant setups
    -unmarked badges from unknown makers
    -doubtful badges
    Cheers, Frank

A good start, George! One that we do not see too often. A known unknown maker.
        Cheers, Frank

          Hi Frank.

An unmarked and unknown maker (at least to me ) with a sloppy
repair to the catch. If the real McCoy, I'm confident you'll name
          the maker

                  Hi Frank,

Under the doubtful category do you want to include definite fakes?

                  Regards

                  Steve

                    Hello Frank,

This is the unmarked flatback that I mentioned to you earlier today. As it turns out, it looks to be the same type badge that George just posted. I really like the obverse design on this one. The reverse looks the same as George's except that mine has a brass pin and a replaced catch.
                    Best regards! Tom

                      @Peter:

Excellent find! GABs with totally sawed out swaz are hard to find. You badge bears the same design features as this type I posted below, so it should be the hollow variation of the semi hollow one I show. Sadly, the maker is unknown.

@Al: That is a GAB by Rudolf Karneth (R.K.). These are never marked but can be linked to him by hinge and catch constructions also found on his PAB. Often your GAB has the ballhinge which matches the R.K. PABs
                      Cheers, Frank

                              Dear Tom,

Are you sure your catch is replaced and not just sloppily soldered? Looking at other GABs of this type, they do have this particular catch with little rectangular catch plate! (Chris Varveris collection)
                              Cheers, Frank
