Anti-Partisan Badge with diamonds original Very Rare

    An Anti-Partisan War Badge in Gold with Diamonds <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>

Partially polished version made by a jeweler of fire-gilded silver with 25 brilliants set à pavé and small sawn perforations. The waisted, swinging pin is engraved "C.E. Juncker" and has the hallmark "800". Safety catch. 58 x 49 mm. Weight 70 grams (OEK 4051).
At least ten copies of this special level of the Anti-Partisan War Badge were made by the Juncker firm during the 2nd half of 1944 according to a former manager. As no award has been documented, we have to speculate a bit concerning both this one and the two other known examples according to Nimmergut. Nimmergut supposes (based on the two known examples) that they were preliminary pieces. It is, however, more probable that the award was a special honor and so, outside the award regulations, as for example the Luftwaffe's double badge with diamonds, or the Navy's combat badge with diamonds.
In design, dimensions, and weight it corresponds to the one illustrated by Klaus Patzwall (see "Das Bandenkampfabzeichen" p. 51 ff) and the examples examined by Jörg Nimmergut (See "Dt. Orden und Ehrenzeichen" vol. IV p. 2342).
    Of great rarity.

Saw this in a german auctionshous at this moment!ralf

Its a fine piece. But the Start price for 20000 Euro - 25000 US $ is also fine!

Frankly, these don´t turn me on. I have Patzwall´s new book where one of these is pictured (20 are said to exist). Even Patzwall just mentions that Nimmergut has expertised these to be originals. Looking at the all wrong expertises from Nimmergut for VERY COMMON awards, which EVERYBODY in here could state to be fakes after only one year attendance of this forum (e.g. I saw a NEW expertise, from 2004, stating that the typical fake Assmann with screwback GAB is an original!), I have no patience to listen to these stories and no trust whatsoever in a Nimmergut expertise. If the only "proof" is that Nimmergut says these are originals, I for one don´t listen anymore.
            Cheers, Frank

This badge is a pathetic fake in my opinion.
That is not even the Junker APB design and the details are all wrong.

The worst thing about this badge is the "800" mark.
There is no way that they would have made these late war badges out of 800 silver, in my opinion. Best, Chris

I think that is not the reason why this should be regarded as a fake. As the story goes, these were ordered by Himmler himself for bestowal on special people like Bach-Zelewski and there is no reason why such a special badge could not have been made out of silver THEORETICALLY, even towards the end of the war. Or have you ever seen late war awarded oak leaves made out of monkey metal?
Stories that Germany was completely stripped of all precious metals, money, etc. at the end of the war might apply to the regular Joe, but is certainly not true for the upper 10.000 of the Nazi leadership. Their champaign never stopped to flow until the VERY end.
                        Cheers, Frank

Frank, I have a few questions.

                          1. How many Third Reich badges have you ever seen that were made of 800 silver?

                          2. How many Gold finished badges have you ever seen that were made of 800 silver?

                          3. Why would anyone make a Gold badge out of 800 Silver?

                          Best, Chris

                              Chris,
The KM war badges with diamonds, (apart from the earliest U-Boat Badges with Diamonds which were tombak) were "gold" finished badges which were made out of silver. Nothing wrong with the concept of late war awards made from 800 silver.
