Chris M. Looking at posts 9 and 10 I think those two badges are very simular, right down to the scales. I think your gold badge just has a thicker coating of the finish on it.

                    Don,

Just with a quick glance, I can see at least ten things that are wrong with your badge. Look at tongue of the Hydra on the bottom left of the blade on my Gold badge, and notice how the fork, (or groove), runs deeply, all the way back to the fang. Yours does not. Best, Chris

Chris, we can do this all day. Look how soft the detail is on your oaks and the blood groove by the top of the skull. Look at all the badges posted so far and you will see at least four different styles of tounge. To base a judgement on one feature is not the best method when comparing badges from different makers. I know who you bought yours from and they have another one right now that I think is iffy. I'm not saying yours is fake but there was more than one die/manufacturer. I've followed your posts on this badge here and on the other forum and you have always portrayed yourself as an expert on these. How can you be so sure of yourself? Why don't you pay the dues so you can post pictures? It would certainly make discussing badges a lot easier.

Believe what you want to, Don!

Any knowledgeable collector can see the differences.
I'm not gonna argue with you.
                        Best, Chris

Chris, I'm not looking for an arguement. I want to learn. I have a life time garentee on this badge and can return it at any time. Bill Stump and Gailen both said it was good (I know they could be mistaken) so I am just trying to gain knowledge.
