Strange Wiedmann Asa

Just came across this Wiedmann badge. The maker mark looks good but the set-up is a variant i never seen before

Hi

From those pics I don't get a nice warm feeling. The finish looks too good and the hinge not textbook at all.
If possible can you get a shot with the pin open and some very close up clear shots so we can see what the texture and surface looks like.

As Gaeme, I don't like this badge, from these picture IMO it's a copy.
The hardware is wrong for this maker and I saw this catch used only in Wiedmann fakes GAB. Metal and finish too seems to be not correct.

Hi eraser,

I tend to agree with the others. The details look Ok, but the reverse hardware and the finish are very suspect. Could be an original that has been repaired and refinished, but passing on it is probably the right choice.
