VERY weird. My first guess would also be a general assault badge, as the grade of the PAB or IAB would have been mentionned. Amazing it's also written in the soldbuch like this!

it's the first time that I See something like that. It's the first time too, that I read "Besondere Sturmabzeichen". I searched for it at google and I found a link on "Lexikon der Wehrmacht" where they introduce the General Assault Badge (Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen).

There is mentioned the following sentence:
"Für Soldaten aller anderen Waffen, einschließlich der Sturmartillerie, die mit der Infanterie oder Panzern zusammen kämpft, oder im eigenen Verband die Bedingungen des Infanteriesturmabzeichens erfüllen, wird ein besonderes Sturmabzeichen mit Wirkung vom 1. Juni 1940 geschaffen."

" For all soldiers of other weapons, incl. the artilellerie, who fight ensamble with Infantry or tanks, or who got the terms for an infantry assault badge in their own group, there will be established a special (Besonderes) Assault Badge to the first of june 1940."

--> I think "Besonderes Sturmabzeichen" is just another word for "Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen".

From the beggining I also thought it was a GAB, but so late in the war using this name...........

Thanks to all, now I wonder if someone has another one like this, unafortunately the other group I have from this nit is missing the assault badge citation..........

Nice & Unusual Document!

What a great assault badge document. For me it is clearly a document for the General Assault Badge. Looks like the signature of Hauptmann Hans Spiegel.

The 25th Panzerjager Abt. was distroyed in 7/44 and was never reformed. How are they still issue awards ?

The 25th Panzerjager Abt. was distroyed in 7/44 and was never reformed. How are they still issue awards ?

I think the unit was reorganized in October 1944 and then back with the 25. Panzergrenadier-Division (Kampfgruppe).

Neu aufgestellt wurde die Panzerjäger-Abteilung 25 im Oktober 1944 auf dem Truppenübungsplatz Grafenwöhr, im Wehrkreis XIII. Die neue Abteilung wurde mit drei Kompanien aufgestellt. Mit der Aufstellung wurde die Abteilung wieder der 25. Panzer-Grenadier-Division unterstellt.

Für die Ersatzgestellung der Abteilung war die Panzerabwehr-Ersatz-Abteilung 5, später Panzerjäger-Ersatz-Abteilung 5, zuständig.
