      Hi Peter,

Its an unmarked Franke & Company (F&CL).

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

        Hi Tom!

Wow, that was quick! Many thanks for the identification. I like the design of this badge very much. Too bad, that most of its (once great) finish has gone.

        Kind regards, Peter

          Hi,

I agree with Thomas. It's an unmarked FCL.
IABs made by FCL are often found in this condition. In my opinion it's really hard to find one with its finish left.

            Hi Peter

I agree with the others, it's a nice FCL example.

I actually like the way the finish turns a mottled hue with time. In my experience, this calico look is unique to the FCL variant with this type of "weiß" finish.

            Here is one of mine.

                Hi Peter

I think your badge looks great, much better imo, having a badge that shouts originality.

                Fischers is a beauty also

                regards

                    Hello all,

I came across a F&CL that I find quite odd when I compare it to others. This one lacks the white finish we typically see and has an almost reflective finish. Is this just electo-plating and if so why does it have the horizontal grain that it does? Are there other badges by this maker that have the rough edges showing on the reverse? This one is just strange for me and there are things that I like about the badge and there are things that I don't like about this badge.

in the last photo the pin appears to have a very white finish. Is it possible this one was refinished at some point, sans the pin?

                        Hi William

Here is my example to compare.
The chrome-like finish has a brass hue giving the surface a yellowish tint.

This is more prevalent in a scan than a photo.

                        Best Regards, fischer

Don't know for sure but it whispers "Staegemeir " in my ears.....
