    IAB in bronze Assmann "3"

    Hi guys,

I would like to show you my new IAB in bronze made by Assmann with the maker mark "3".

I know that the colour on the reverse is strange, but I alreda made an aceton test. Just a little bit of the darker areas went off. I'm not sure if it was just dirt or patina, or maybe really the colour? What do you think about it? Can I put more Aceton on it without destroying the badge?

I hope you like it and opinions are welcome!!!

    Best regards
    Sven

        Hi Sven,

Surprised not more responses on this IAB, I think the #3 has to be the rarest type of Assmann IAB to find. I personally like the look of the bronze finish on it, reminds me of the finish we see on the bronze FLL PABs and IABs, which makes sense since both were located in Ludenscheid. I like it alot.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

            Hi Sven

Bronze Assmanns are hard to find.

I like the obverse colouring, for me the typical dark and light bronze effect.

The differing shades on the reverse, I have seen on other bronze Assmanns but to a much lesser degree. Areas of the dark finish have been lost leaving the lighter areas imo.

If you have tested with acetone in a small area and none of the bronze finish came off, I would not clean it up any more.

            nice catch

            regards
            Graeme

              Hi Sven,

Great badge at all. I wouldnt clean it, but is is just my opinion. Rather keep it in this condition.

              Best Regards,

              Marek
