    Dug artifact preservation

Hi, not sure where else to put this one. I know we have some relic collectors here. A few months ago I went to the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium. I was poking around thru the old US fighting positions outside Foy, and I found a solid shot AP German tank round (no explosives I'm happy to say) partially buried in one of the old fox holes. I managed to get this back to the states...no small task. The whole thing is very rusty, and I want to preserve it from further deterioration. What is the best procedure?

I would say, cover it in WD40... and now I will step back to avoid the attack of the anti WD40ers.....

WD40 evaporates, so you may want to use Break-Free
