    Unmarked Silver CCC

I would like some help with this CCC it is unmarked and supposed to be silver . My concern is what looks like casting flaws or zinc pest on it. Tom if you are out there I would appreciate your input on this badge.

    thanks,
    Mike

It's an original S&L clasp in silver (1.16.2) that's suffered some pest and treated at some point, as it's pretty clean and "powder" free.

        Hi Mike,

I tend to agree with Ken that its an original clasp, but has suffered a hard life or was not produced correctly to begin with. I really like the look of the reverse hardware, so that makes me think it is an original rather than a cast fake, so I chalk the flaws on the obverse up to a production mistake that was overlooked at the factory or stored improperly causing the flaws somehow. Looking at the condition of the backplate, almost looks like it could be ground-dug..

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little
