Something smells rotten in the State of Denmark. I don't like the badge and never heard of a marked RK GAB.

        Hi eraser,

I think it could be an original, but looks chemically cleaned. I don't see any red flags right at the moment, but better detailed shot of the obverse and reverse straight on would tell us for sure. There are very good fakes of the RK GABs, so its imperative to get good photos before you lay your money down.

        Tom

p.s., Ken, he said it was unmarked.
If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Hi. Tom. It's the way he said an "unmarked example". There were no marked RK GABs to my knowledge, so whoever is trying to pawn this one off to him gave him some sort of "line" IMO. As to the award, I have never seen an original RK GAB with these features and have clearly outlined some of my concerns in the pics supplied with arrows. Have a look at that ovular baseplate? and the distortions in the upper right-hand corner of the wreath. I've never seen the "scallops" on the backside do what this one is doing, but more close-ups will clarify this. The "cut-out" areas look off to me as well. A casting line on the left leg? Badge also looks a bit too thick. Actually, Tom, I did a bit more looking... and you even declared this "type" a fake (Stagemaier) on another Forum.

Maybe my line off words was a bit confusing.

Maybe these picture's help best i got for now but looking at the red flags i better leave this one alone

Have patience with me, I'm new at this. I'm not sure if it's my eyes or the photo, but the bayonet handle seems to have a very distinctive notch at the bottom of the grip. It looks like it was cut out perfectly for the acorn. I haven't seen this before, but like I said, I'm a beginner.

If this is normal we must be able find another original badge with the same grip.....but then again, maybe I am seeing things.

It's a fake that's currently being sold as an original on a popular auction site. If you come across one like the pair listed below, hit that backspace button.

                        Hi guys,

Yes, I agree that this one is a fake now that I look at it better with some better pics. Notice the same weird flaws where the bayonet and the grenade handle cross with the one that Ken shows
