      Hi Maksiusta,

Nice original Rudolf Karneth in great condition. A great one to start your IAB collection off with, as I am sure this will not be your last one, they are a bit addictive.

              Hi Andy,

This type of IAB has always been characterized as being made by RK for many, many years now. Whether that is exactly right or if there were more makers involved we aren't 100% sure still. But they have always been called RKs for as long as I can remember.

Sascha's book is far from complete as you probably well know. But its a decent book for the money and has some good general information.

To be done correctly, showing all the variants and makers, the IAB book would probably be 2000 pages. A huge undertaking for sure, and that is probably why no one has stepped up to attempt it................yet.

I've always loved the look on this type of RK in silver. The finish really makes the wreath detail and the eagle "pop" -compared to the bronze ones by the same maker. Here's one of my examples with a missing hook, but check out the untouched finish.

Tom is right. The "RK design" IABs can be found with many, many slight differences, "die-wise" and hardware too. All to the same maker? Probably not. Both examples in this thread show a number of "slight" differences. Whether one came earlier or later, or, from another maker, who knows?
