    Gab 50 - rk

    Gentlemen,

I would appreciate your opinions on the legitimacy of this GAB 50 - RK

    Cheers

I wouldn't put my money on that one. The grenade and bayo are too small, from the front view. The needle pin (magnetic?) is the wrong style, and the cut-outs in the wings, too sparse. There looks to be some casting flaws on the reverse, and, the maker mark, which is usually very clear, appears faint, and, not quite "correct". I question the base metal too. Let's see what others have to say...

A decent but definite reproduction. Note the top left and top right "rivets" have tiny circular impressions adjacent to them - this is another giveaway for this repro.

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

                Hi Mike,
Are those circular impressions typical for a fake?
Both my (IMHO original) 25 and 50 RK GAB's are having those marks.

                    Gents,

I clearly stated "adjacent to" not "surrounding".

NONE of the last three badges have the features I attempted to describe. The features are the same size and in the same location on other fakes of this type. Probably something to do with the fake riveting process.

                    Regards
                    Mike

Not to be a smart guy, but I do see a "dot" adjacent to Pascal's perfectly original example. Just kidding around, eh Mike.
