Bruce, I was there and wouldn't give that dialogue if I wasn't. To each his own. I've got some great deals off Ebay too. Done plenty of sniping too. Even picked off an adjoined "NS" HOHENSTAUFEN CT for $50 in about 2004-5. Sure you can get "deals" at all points in time, and I stick to my original story. P.S.: Prices also climbed in conjunction with the newer info. provided on the Forums. Did you know who made S.H.u.Co in the 90's?? I sure didn't. Did I care then? Do I care now? No.

.....disagree on the timeline presented about pricing. For instance, I watched a marked Wiedmann GAB(with a generous amount of silvering on it) sit on Detlev's site, in the early 2000's, for the price of $49. It sat there for 3-4 months before there was a taker. I had condidered buying it myself(and now think I should have, of course), but someone else finally made the move on it. During the same period I bought a Krim Shield at auction on ebay(though perhaps this isn't that fair a comparison) for $18, from a seller in the USAF stationed in England. Detlev routinely priced his common IAB's and GABs in the $40-$50 range, during that period. Gold GWB's were priced anywhere from $50 to $75, depending on condition. I myself sold a nice zinc, late war dark grey finished, BH Mayer IAB in around 2003-2004 for $60, here on the estand. I could go on.

IMHO the prices we see today started their climb to the pinnacles of the present when Yahoo, followed by ebay, banned the swastika from sales items.

For what it is worth Ken, I have been looking at your thread over and over. Both of those IABs are high on my priority list. Just cant scrape the funds up at this time.
