A few bagdes- please let know your thoughts.

    Hi guys,

I've been going through my small collection (medals, badges, paper items etc etc) and require some help. Is everything as it should be?

    Cheers,

    Jamie

Any ideas on pricing? I bought this gear 10 years ago.

            Jamie,
There is nothing wrong with any of them other than the Hobacher is missing its catch.

You are correct in suspecting the "W.H." marked IAB. It is indeed a reproduction. If you compare it against an original IAB by this maker you will immediately note the vastly different eagle's head.

There are a number of other differences between an original W.H. and this repro to include the hinge and the bayonet. Additionally this repro is about 2 mm smaller in height than the original. It has been around since at least 1987 so natural aging has taken place with it.

I agree with Tim. The W.H. Infantry Assault Badge is a fake that has been around since the 80s. I remember when these fakes flooded the market and they appeared around the same time as the flatback "A.S. in a triangle" Panzer Badge fakes. The other badges posted look fine.

                Best regards,
                Tom

                  Hi guys,

                  Thanks for your help.

I'll keep the W.H. aside to be safe (I need to be 100%).

I looked up Weber's book (after reading the replies) and the Eagles head does appear to be different.

Anyhow all is good- I bought the W.H. over ten years ago so its all
                  cool

The other badges have no makers-- any idea who could have made them?

                  cheers,

                  jamie
