    IAB. Good or Bad?

    Hi Gents,

I would appreciate your expertise and tell me if this IAB is original or fake, and who the maker is.

This badge appears to be bronze, but sometimes it's difficult to tell in photos. Any thoughts?

    Thank you

    Mark

IAB's are a bit outside my comfort zone but it seems okay to me.

A good, hollow bronze grade Deumer in zinc, with the rectangular catchplate under the hinge assembly.

The pics could be clearer, but I think it's a bronze grade -based on the overall dark appearance and what looks like a bronze finish on the hardware. The buttstock has a bit of bronze on there and could be a very well worn piece for sure.

              Hi Mark

It looks a nice original to me.

Although these may turn out to be made by Deumer, for some, the evidence for Deumer is not conclusive.

Regarding silver or bronze, it can be difficult to call when most of the finish has been lost to time. However, I would have expected to see a bronze finish on the hinge plate, and that appears to be silver.

              cheers

The pics are pretty crappy quality. Sure, one can tell it's a Deumer, but the color registration just ain't makin' it. So, what I can only recommend are scanned pics, otherwise natural lighting and macro mode with the handheld might improve the resolution. There looks to be some bronze on that rectangular plate IMO.

Thanks, Gents. I appreciate your help.

I asked the seller for additional pics and I'll get them posted when I receive them.

                    Thanks again

Looks silver Deumer to me as well, so not much finish remaining unfortunately.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little
