      Looks like a bronze grade zinc badge to me Greg..looks original too.

        ok not sure if zinc,,has a gold look under dark bronze finish,,my pics are not showing true colors

              Would there be a dark bronze over a lighter color bronze over zinc? that might be what Im seeing here, without scrapping away some finish

                    Greg, over time bronze finishes can look "mottled" or "patchy" with varying shades of bronze. Check the worn high points under a loupe for grey areas..

                    And as Chet indicated, the weight might give a clue..
