    General Assault Badge by Osang - is it real?

    I would sincerely any opinions as to the authenticity of this General Assault Badge that is maker-marked "G.H. OSANG DRESDEN". Thanks.

      I think its a fake. Osang never produced GABs.
      The badge has a Deumer design, but the hinge is wrong.

          Hi John,

          I agree with the others, this is not an original. Looks more like it was copied from a Schauert & Hohfeld badge rather than Deumer IMO, but you can see how poor the cutouts are done on the reverse and how slender everything looks. The finish is also unlike originals, and ofcourse the weird Osang mark is another nail in the coffin of this one.

              Hello all,

              This GAB is without doubt a fake as mentioned buy the guys in this threat.

              Despite this there are few PAB badges around, original ones, but with (original) maker mark Osang on reverse.

              I have one of those PAB, got if from Frank Heukemes years ago.
              Does anyone else have one??

                  Thanks for posting. I do not have one, but it is always nice to see variations.

                  Osang marks do vary, and the mark on your badge looks believable.

                  I guess for now we do not know the real reason it is on there..

                  But it would be nice to see if other members have similar marked examples.

                    It's been years but I can remember when Frank posted this PAB up. It is the only one I've ever seen. As for the GAB I was stung with one almost twenty years ago. I had it untill I discovered this forum. It and and few other things soon went for a walk.....
