Pics need to be more consistent and much clearer if you intend to sell or buy properly. The 3rd picture of the backside makes it look like it's got some white residue on it --while the other backside shots are fuzzy -at best. That said, it does appear to be an original large font AGM clasp, with some rust developing on the backplate. Really hard to assess the overall condition and the finish from these shots. --Ken

I am having problems with the macro focus on my camera. The photos here are a mix of scans and photos. I put talcum powder on the back so that the makers mark could be read. I will try again on close up photosof the back and sides.

I would vote for a good one with very hard life from these blurry pictures. If I see good it has even a die flaw next to the eagle´s head, visible on the first shot.

Follow these steps and you should have no problem:
1. Put your camera into MACRO mode
2. Cam should be set on AUTO so the flash goes off
3. Zoom should be set around 6.4
4. Take some test shots with the lights "ON" (FLASH DOESN'T NEED TO GO OFF FOR TEST SHOTS). This way you'll be able to get a handle on where you need to be for focus. The key to find the clearest shot is trial and error, by stepping in or out of the pic. You will see the picture getting clearer or fuzzier.
5. Now turn the lights off. Take the picture in a shaded spot so the flash goes off. AS LONG AS THERE'S A CAST SHADOW OVER THE OBJECT YOU ARE GOOD TO GO.
6. Make sure you use a backgound color to make the object stand out more. In your case, WHITE would be great.
7. Start shooting. You will need to sift through maybe 25 shots before you find the one you like best. If that didn't work the 1st time (never does), START OVER.

This is a better shot of the backside. You may want to zoom up one more notch. But the trick will always be getting the "clarity" spot on. That comes with practice and studying the sharpness of the subject, just before you take the shot. **Make sure there's a shadow cast over the clasp too. --Best, Ken

For me this is a fake. AGMuK badges don't have the slender style pin, they have full banjo and fluted sheet metal only. Maybe Tom knows of a variant, but couple this red flag with the other red flags such as pitting and I'd pass. Better pics are needed for me to change my opinion, or toms call of variant

I'll have to agree with Chad. The pin is not textbook AGM, as well as the font style on the A.G.M.u.K. **The "A" looks a bit washed out, followed by a mishappen "G" and weird "u". Even the K looks weird... I re-adjusted the 1st picture etc... --Ken

Hi guys,

Looks very questionable to me as well. Along with what Chad has said, the really dark finish is inconsistent with originals, but maybe that is due to the crappy pics.

The white residue looks to be dried polish. This is another weird aspect to this clasp, why would someone polish it up and yet it still remains very dark? Is the base metal that it was made from some type of dark metal? Weird....
