I am also not a fan of the rivets. The other thing that bothers me is how the eagle sits inside the wreath. It seems to lack size and looks "sloppy" in the wreaths recess. Just my two cents worth. Can you get measurements of this badge?

    Regards,
    Dave

I'm not going to tell you to spend $10000+ on a GAB, but has anyone seen a nice thick badge like this with the tit under the hinge?? It's also got a silver brennlac on the eagle and not the 1st time I've seen smaller rivets on a numbered JFS. I think it has a chance (maybe earlier run). --Ken

Yes, this pedestal is under the hinge for the pin to rest on for tension.

Yes, I know Wyatt. That's not the point I was trying to make. Let me put emphasis on the wreath being a bit thicker, which may point to it being from an earlier (perhaps earliest) run. --Rgds, Ken

            My misunderstanding.

            I would want measurements first.

What kills me is the detail on this eagle and those claws! The pebbling is crisper than the one on Weitze's site... --Rgds, Ken

It looks like a 100% original badge to me BUT it is suffering some patchy bad zincpest - something I normally associate with ground found badges. The eagle is no longer dull grey either. Cleaning and even re-touching the finish over the bad zincpest areas MAY (or may not) be an issue with this example as well.

Compare this shot with the one on the Weitze site! Mike, I think that "finish" is a silver brennlac. Rgds, --Ken

Indeed a very nice and extremely rare badge.

                    My books:

                    - THE WEHRPAß & SOLDBUCH OF THE WH
                    - THE SS TK RING

                    - THE ANTI PARTISAN BADGE
                    - THE AWARDS OF THE LW

                    and more!

Hi Ron. These pics are like comparing apples and oranges. A lot of badges look different (ie. I've never seen two NS Junckers alike). What would help is some close-up shots. Please could you oblige a close-up --like the last picture I posted of the eagle claws, and lower portion of the wings? Am I seeing a flaw in the lower leg of your #5 as well?? ---Thanks in advance, Ken

                          Height - 56 mm
                          Width - 49 mm

I know the story of how it was found but I didn't find it personally. So this is not my story. But I have this badge in my collection since 2000 (but the first time I saw this one in 1994 or 1995) - and this is fact.

                          Regards,
                          Piotr
