    HELP QUICK!! Panzer Numbered badge

I only have about an hour and a half to decide If i want this badge, it comes with a 3 day return for what ever reason and a 30 day return if found to be a repo, but as we know that always doesnt work out. So I would like your thoughts on this befor I buy it. I really dont have that much ref. for numbered badges, but I like this badge What do you guys thinK? rember I only have about an hour and a half.

    hi Justin,
For as far as I can see on these blurry pictures, I would doubt this one. Look on the front picture and take a close look on the swastika's lower arm. It look deformed. Also on the backside the rivit of the tank is queer. On the left side the rivit is clearly to see, but on the right there seem to be not one at all, just a sort of blobb of solder in stead.
Could be a period repair or a mould fault. I've always learned that these numberd PAB's are very fine made like jewelery.

I would pass this one for my little collection.
Maybe an someone else has somewhat positive feedback for you.

    Cheers:Peter

      Hello Justin,

As it says on the Panzer badge page of this website "The numbered Panzer badges were all made with exceptional quality".
I`m no expert but from the point Peter makes regarding the "blob" of solder where the rivet should be, I would not be happy with it in my collection, I would always look at it and wonder....................?
I hope someone can give you something more positive. Good luck!

      Best regards.

I would definitely pass on this one as well for the above mentioned reasons. I have seen these for sale quite frequently same pin, catch and die characteristics with varying makers marks.
When you handle them they will bend quite easily between your fingers. Genuine numbered badges are quite rare.

Over the years I seen a few of these and the tank would be loose. I don't know the reason except that maybe over time people would check and see how well the tank was attached and after a few 100 pulls and pokes they became loose. I have also seen people attempt to repair the problem and solder the rivet. This may have been the case here. I don't know. I would always have a gram scale and a gem ruler to check the specs. If all that was in line I'd see if it were a bargin price, gamblers price, or out of my world price. From the pictures I think most of us played it safe and passed on this one. But then again................I just don't know. Having it in the hand is worth a 100 photos.
